How was Ganesh Chaturthi (who celebrates it)? Though we do not celebrate but we visited mantaps in the evening and offer our prayers to Lord Ganesha. Ten years back people of West Bengal were not aware about Vinyaka Chaturthi, however now it is also celebrated in West Bengal. I came to know about Vinayaka Chaturthi during my hostel stay in Chennai and later massively celebrated when I was in Goa. Ganesh Chaturthi is grandly celebrated in Maharashtra and Goa.
While talking about Maharashtra I would like to tell about Puran Poli, one popular traditional dish of Maharashtra. First time I tasted puran poli from one of my office colleague’s lunch box. I simply loved it and tried searching in shops. One day in Panaji main market I found a shop where they used to sell fresh puran poli sealed and packed. After that, regularly I used to visit that shop just for puran poli. Recently, I prepared it in my kitchen and sharing the recipe here.
