Tea -- These three letters give relieve to all the stress! Isn't it true? Tea a popular drink now over the world though no one knows when and who first brew it. Being a citizen of second-largest tea producing country I have some affinity to it though I am not a hard-core tea lover! I do not prefer to drink tea along with milk, I just love the tea or tea along with some other flavour. Darjeeling tea famous over worldwide for it's aroma. My mother is a great fan of Darjeeling tea but her son-in-law (my better half) prefers Assam tea! So everyone has their own choice but the similarity is we all love tea.

I like to make my morning tea flavourful. So either I prepare lemon tea or ginger tea (my husband's favourite) or unbeatable masala tea! These days I am made over the aroma and taste of Masala tea and I bet spices create magic in any recipes! From today's post I am starting "Tea-Series" where I will share few recipes of flavourful teas. I think you have already guess which one would be my first choice? Yes, it's Masala Tea...Before the preparation of masala tea, we should know how to make masala tea powder? Once you know how to prepare the masala tea powder, you can store the powder in your kitchen cupboard and make a cup of aromatic masala tea with the goodness of spices every morning.

Masala Tea Powder / Chai Ka Masala


Cardamoms - 1/4 cup
Black Peppercorns - 11/2 tablespoon
Cloves - 3 tablespoon
Cinnamon - 2 long sticks
Nutmeg Powder - 1 teaspoon
Dried Ginger Powder - 1/4 cup


1. Mix all the ingredients together (except dried ginger powder & nutmeg powder). Dry roast them well for a while. 

2. Allow it cool for sometime and blend them to smooth powder.

3. Next add dry ginger and nutmeg powder into the blender and blend them altogether.

4. Now store the tea masala powder in a air tight container.

How to Make Masala Tea

When tea masala powder is ready at home you need worry about  how to make masala tea.


Milk - 1 cup

Tea Masala Powder - 1 teaspoon

Tea Leaves - 4 to 5 teaspoon

Sugar - 2 to 3 tablespoon (as per your tastebud)

Water - 3 cups


Boil water in sauce pan. Next add milk, sugar, tea leaves and masala tea powder . Boil the mixture once again for 2 to 3 minutes. Strain and serve hot. 


  1. I don't add nutmeg.. rest is the same.. I love masala tea.. cannot drink without adding it.
