Tuesday was the first movie date of mother and daughter ! Post mother day treat :P... Actually, I was thinking to take her for the The Jungle Book for last few days. But as usual I was tied up with my ad hoc work schedule and weekends are always busy with household chores or invitations. Finally, this Tuesday I could take her to the movie. It was 3D, so she was bit scary at times. Rest of the time she was talking too much instead of concentrating on movie. But I had a wonderful time reviving my memory of favourite childhood cartoon. It was thrilling experience and I was amazed. If you have not watched this movie I would suggest you to watch this movie in 3D. We went for noon show and when we are out from the movie hall it was terribly hot outside. After we came home, sat for sometime and decided to have some cool lassi.

You just need few ingredients to make this sweet lassi. Lassi is a thick yogurt based drink whereas Chaas or buttermilk is a diluted drink made from curd. Earlier I have shared the recipe of strawberry lassi. I would like share various types of lassi in future.

Classic Lassi / Sweet Lassi/ Lassi Recipe

Thick Curd - 2 cups
Milk/Water - 1/2 to 1 cup
Sugar - 2 to 3 tablespoon
Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Rose Essence - 1 or 2 drop (optional)
Almond/Pistachio - few
Ice cubes - few (optional)

1. Take chilled thick curd in a big vessel and beat well.
2. Now take the beaten curd in a blender and add sugar, blend well.
3. Add cardamom powder in the blender. Add milk (chilled preferably) and blend once again until frothy on top.
4. Finally, add a drop of rose essence and blend once again. If you prefer can add ice cubes , but I have avoided it.
5. Pour into serving glasses from a height to form foam and garnish with chopped pistachio or almond.
