Bengal Gram Salad / Crunchy Bengal Gram Salad/ Kala Chana Salad

Bengal gram salad is a very easy dish and packed with goodness of protein, vitamin and minerals. In salad, normally I prefer cucumber, raw onion and carrot (in winter). This time I thought of trying something new and also I had in mind I will make it simple. I had a bunch of lettuce so thought of using that in my salad. Even health freaks would love this one as I kept the dressing of salad quite simple. You can include this under low calorie diet. You can reduce little carbs (instead of 2 roti you can opt for 1) from your platter and include this power packed salad in your diet.

Bengal Gram Salad


Ingredients


Bengal Gram - 2/3 cup

Lettuce - 1 cup, torn into pieces
Cucumber - 1/2 cup, cut into small pieces
Onion - 1/2 cup, chopped
Salt to taste


Dressing


Lime Juice - 2 teaspoon

Olive Oil -  few drops

Procedure


Soak the bengal gram for 3 to 4 hours. Later pressure cook them upto two whistle adding salt. Allow them to cool. In a small bowl, take lime juice and olive oil together and mix them. Now in a bowl add all the ingredients  and give a toss after adding salt. Finally, add the dressing and again toss them. Crunchy Bengal Gram salad is ready to serve.
