Maida Paratha / Bengali Style Triangular Paratha

Normally Paratha is made of whole wheat flour or atta. However, Bengalis prefer paratha made of maida or all purpose flour. We give a special triangular shape to our parathas. Here I am sharing the method how we do it. This will help the novice who are entering kitchen for the first time.


Maida Paratha / Triangular Paratha


Ingredients


Maida - 2 cups

Refined Oil - 11/2 tablespoon +   2tablespoon for frying
Salt to taste

Procedure


Take maida, refined oil and salt in a bowl and knead the dough well. It should be soft and smooth but not sticky at all. Cover it with damp cloth  for 1 hour. Next take big lemon size balls from dough and roll out round. 




Then fold it to half like semi circle.





 If you again fold the semi circle it would be a triangle. 






Now roll out the triangle to make it little bigger. 





Heat the skillet and put each triangular paratha and fry them using oil and serve hot.
