Macaroni  and Cheese in short Mac 'n' Cheese was in our dinner table last night. Very rare I prepare pasta and this time I tried Classic Mac n Cheese on stove top. You won't believe it was so creamy, I will prepare this again very soon. Mac 'n' Cheese is a very classic and simple pasta recipe that I have tried ever. So what are you waiting for, read the recipe and prepare it tonight and share your experience with me. This is a stove-top recipe so if you don't have microwave, still you can relish this creamy delectable Mac 'n' Cheese.

Mac 'n' Cheese on Stove top / Macaroni in White Sauce / Macroni and Cheese

Macaroni  - 2 cups
Milk - 1 cup
Cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
Flour (Maida) - 1/3 cup
Salt to taste
Olive oil - 2 teaspoon
Butter - 11/2 tablespoon
Black pepper powder - 11/2 teaspoon
Garlic - chopped, 11/2 teaspoon (optional)
Basil - 1tablespoon

Boil water and add macaroni into it. Add little olive oil and salt into water. It will take 5 to 8 minutes to get cooked. Drain the water when macaronis are cooked properly. Run cold water on these macaroni to avoid overcooked.  Now add butter in  a pan and add chopped garlic. Next goes flour and stir for 2 to 3 minutes. When the smell of flour goes add milk and mix it well so that there is no lump. Now add grated cheese and salt. Allow the cheese to melt. Now your white sauce is ready. If white sauce becomes dry add little milk in between. Cook white sauce in slow flame. Boiled macaroni now goes into white sauce. Mix them well and add black pepper powder or crushed black pepper and basil. You can also add some other herbs or mixed herbs of your choice. When macaronis are properly coated in white sauce, switch off the gas and serve it hot. You can also add some vegetables like broccoli, mushroom or peas in your Mac n Cheese recipe.
