It is true that kids are representation of our future generation. Today's child is tomorrow's leader of the nation and future citizen of the country. Hence, we should make our children strong enough so that they can easily face the challenges of tomorrow.

There is a proverb, "A healthy mind resides in a healthy body". Here healthy body is nothing but staying fit or able to fight against various illnesses. In other way, we can say healthy body is only possible if you have a strong immune system to fight against various environmental factors such as bacteria, virus, weather changes, etc. and thereby, battle against all the diseases. This immune power slowly develops in children and as a parent we have to make sure that our children gets a healthy environment to grow up and build a stronger immune system.

Tips to build a Stronger, Healthier and more Immune India

Breastfeeding: Breastfeeding is the first step to boost your child's immune system. Instead of feeding honey, jaggery water , initiate breastfeeding your baby immediately after birth. The first yellow milk or colostrum is very essential for your baby. It helps to protect your baby from various illnesses. Exclusive breastfeeding for first six month is recommended for your child's healthy tomorrow.

Eating healthy:  Include lot of fresh fruits and veggies in your child diet. Vitamin C is an important factor which boosts immunity and citrus fruits like orange, sweet lime have the goodness of vitamin C. Other colourful vegetables like tomato, carrot, beetroot also contain phytonutrient which boosts immunity. Green leafy vegetables such as spinach and pomegranate are rich in Iron serves as a key factor of human immune system. Ensure that your child's diet contains good amount of protein, carbohydrate and vitamin-minerals. Your child should drink plenty of water.

Adequate sleep:  Apart from eating healthy, it is also important that your child gets adequate sleep. Lack of sleep can make your child weak and susceptible to various illnesses.

Physical activity: Research showed that physical activity and exercise helps to increase your child's white blood cell activity and thereby, ability to fight against more germs. Make sure exercise become a regular habit of your child's daily routine and sometimes you can also join your child to encourage him or her.

Follow Immunization Schedule:  It is very important to follow  immunization schedule recommended by Indian Government. Take your child to your nearest healthcare centre to get vaccinated.

Herbs: Ayurveda was well practiced in ancient Indian. Healing power of Ayurveda is continued in modern days too. Certain herbs and spices such as turmeric, Holy basil, garlic helps to enhance your natural defence power. These natural herbs and spices can also boost your child's immunity.

Awareness: Most importantly mass awareness is required to spread all the above ideas throughout the country especially to the backward uneducated people. Campaigning should be done via various mass communicator such as radio TVC, newspaper or via NGO's by covering individual houses.

So let's come together and take an oath of making our future bright and prosperous by making a
