Sweet and Sour Masala Bhindi / Okra/ Ladies Finger

We often feel bore while eating the same vegetables in same manner. I mean the same dish with same vegetable again and again. We don't try out new dishes everyday as it takes time to cook different dish. After a hectic day when you reach home and then you start thinking what should I cook for dinner or often in the morning when you have to reach office on time you think what can you make for lunch?? You opened the fridge and found only bhindi is there in your fridge. I know you are thinking about the same boring okra stir fry! Wait wait wait.....

Here is something new for you.. Sweet and Sour Masala Bhindi :)...Easy & Quick Recipe for Busy week days and Lazy weekends!!

Sweet and Sour Masala Bhindi


Bhindi/Ladies Finger/Okra - 200 gm
Curd - 1/3 cup
Onion - 1/2 cup, sliced
Ginger paste - 2 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Sugar - 1 teaspoon
Green chilli - 2 to 3
Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
Mustard oil


Wash the Ladies finger and allow them to dry. Then cut them into 1 inch pieces and fry in mustard oil using salt and turmeric powder. When the turn little brownish, take them out. In the mean time beat the curd with sugar and turmeric powder and keep it aside. Now fry onions in the same oil and add ginger paste, green chilli, salt and powder spices. Fry the masala well and add little water into it.Add the fried bhindis and mix it with the masala. Now add the beaten curd and cook on slow flame for another 5 minutes. When the water dries up, switch off the gas and serve sweet and sour masala bhindi.
