Oil-free recipe

Last week we ate lot of outside food, so it’s time to control our calories and obviously I have to take the responsibility. Outside food is nothing but lot of oil butter and cheese. So thought of making something really healthy and oil free. This thought motivated me for the dish Veggy cake (Dal with colorful vegetables). One hand it is oil free and other hand it has the goodness of leafy & colorful vegetables. I have used again my spiritual spice black pepper here. This recipe is also good for diabetic patients as it supplies protein and minerals, both are vital energy source for diabetic patients. Check it out the recipe.

Veggy Cake (Dal with colorful vegetables)

Masoor Dal – 1 cup

Palak (Spinach) –  1 cup chopped

Onion – 1, cut into round shape

Beet – ½ cup, finely cut into round shape

Carrot – ½ cup, cut into round shape

Black salt

Pepper powder – 1 teaspoon

1. Cut vegetables into round shape. Wash all the vegetables and dal. Now put everything into pressure cooker, add salt as per taste and adjust water in the pressure cooker and close the lid.
2. Wait for 4-5 whistles. Open the lid and you will see water is completely soaked by dal and it will look like veggy cake.
3. Now serve it into a bowl by sprinkling black salt and pepper powder on top.

  1. Hey my wife tried this.. its so so simple yet so tasty and healthy.. best part is there is absolutely 0% oil required to prepare this dal..

  2. Delicious recipe, thanks for sharing with Hearth and Soul blog hop.
