Avocado-Banana Smoothie

Avocado-Banana Smoothie is a healthy drink to start to your day. If you want to have a healthy breakfast quickly you can sip in to a glass of avocado banana smoothie. This will give you instant energy and keep your tummy filled for longer duration. Avocado is also known as butter fruit.

Needless to say that avocado has lot of health benefits. This is a fruit packed with lot of vitamins and minerals. Though avocado contains fat however it is considered as good fat which helps to lower bad cholesterol.So it is very important to include avocado in your diet.



Recently I prepared this avocado banana smoothie which turned out to be so creamy. Ripe avocado gives a good result when you are preparing smoothie. If you want to consume avocado next then buy a ripe one. If you want to consume it after 3 to 4 days then buy a green avocado (less ripen) and keep it outside, slowly it will ripen.

As I mentioned it is filling drink, even you can sip it before going for workout. I had it before one and half hour before yoga class and after I came from the class I was not very hungry. You can have it as on the way breakfast. These days mason jars are very useful. You prepare the avocado-banana smoothie and pack it in a mason jar and sip in while you are travelling in a car pool or cab. Isn't it a great idea.

Avocado-Banana Smoothie

Ingredients
Avocado - 1(standard size)
Banana Robust - 1
Yogurt - 1/2 cup
Milk - approx 1 cup to 11/2 cup
Honey - 2 tablespoon (adjust according to your taste bud)

Procedure

1. Cut the avocado and scoop cut the flesh and discard the seed.
2. Take the flesh of avocado, peeled banana and yogurt in a blender and blend until smooth.
3. Now slowly add the milk  and honey into the blender and blend once again.
4. Pour it in glass and serve immediately.

Tips: If you prefer cold smoothie then you can add ice cubes or you can use chilled milk.

Jamun Shots

Jamun is primarily a summer fruit which has amazing health benefits. It is mainly available in the month of May, June and rarely first half of July. In Bengali we say in summer 'aam jam kanthal r samay' (this is the season of Mango, Indian Blackberry /Jamun and Jackfruit). I remember my father used to bring jamun during summer. The he used to wash and marinate with salt and offer us to eat. Frankly, speaking I am not a Jamun lover :(. After eating jamun you feel a tartness with slightly astringent which I don't like at all. So I used to eat only 3 to 4 pieces.



Even my better half love jamun however when we came to Bangalore Jamun used to be very expensive and rarely available during season. This year it is totally different scene. I could see jamun everywhere and cheap too. We (including me) had enough of it and this is almost end of July and still they are available in the market. I had jamuns this time thinking of its health benefits. It is very good for diabetic people.

As it was avaialble in the market we used to buy a lot and I tried recipes with it. Few days back I shared the recipe of Jamun Oats Smoothie Bowl. This time I thought of preparing a drink using jamun. The only problem is you have to be patient while de-seeding the jamun. While de-seeding wear apron or be careful of spilling its juice on your dress. The stain does not go very easily. Try this recipe of Jamun Shots which is perfect during summer days. Even I like the taste of this drink. I think addition of salt and lemon juice create the magic.

Jamun Shots 

Ingredients

Jamun / Indian Black Berry - 12 to 15 nos
Chilled Water - 11/2 cup
Lemon Juice - 1 teaspoon
Sugar - 1 tablespoon (Optional)
Black Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
Lemon wedges - 1 or 2
Salt - 2 to 3 tablespoon for garnishing
Mint Sprig - for garnishing

Procedure

1. Clean and de-seed the jamuns and take them in a blender.
2. Now add sugar, black salt and 1 cup of water in the blender and blend together.
3. Pour it in a tall glass and add remaining water and lemon juice and mix well.
4. Spread the salt in a plate.
5. Take a lemon wedge and rub it on the brim of shot glasses.
6. Next place each shot glass upside down in the salt.  Salt will stuck on the edge of the glass creating a ring of salt.
7. Now pour the drink in each glass and garnish with mint sprig.

NB: You can also add ice cubes to the drink however I have used chilled water hence avoided it. If you want you can avoid sugar in the drink.

Mango Mastani

My last post was a mango drink, that is aam panna which was like by many of you. So I have decided to post another mango drink today. The name of the drink is Mango Mastani which sounds like a Bollywood movie. Trust me like the name look-wise the drink is also appealing. This Mango Mastani is prepared using ripe mangoes unlike aam panna which is a raw/green mango drink.


What is Mango Mastani? This question arised when I first heard the name of it later when I searched in internet I came to know this drink is basically famous in the city of Pune. It is nothing but a version of milk shake which is thick in texture and served with a big dollop of ice cream on top which makes the drink for lucrative. It is also topped with some dry fruits and chopped mangoes. I have not added chopped mangoes if you want can put them. This drink is really filling as it contains mango puree, milk, ice cream and nuts. Before the mango season ends, you can prepare this Pune special now India famous Mango Mastani and enjoy Summer!

Mango Mastani

Ingredients
Ripe Mango -  2 to 3
Milk - 1.5 cups
Sugar - 2 to 3 tablespoon (Adjust according to the tastebud)
Vanilla Ice cream - 4 to 6 scoops
Cashews - 5 to 6, chopped
Pistachios - 5 to 6, chopped
Almonds - 5 to 6, chopped
Cherries - 4 for garnishing


Procedure

1. Peel the mangoes and chop them. Put the chopped mangoes in a blender and make a puree.
2. Now add sugar, milk and one or two scoop vanilla ice cream and blend until smooth.
3. Pour the drink in the glasses (fill 2/3 rd part).
4. Top with ice cream and dry fruits and garnish with cherry and serve.

Aam Panna

Aam panna is a popular Indian drink which is prepared from green (raw) mangoes during Summer. Green mango has heat-resistant properties which helps to beat the heat during Summer especially in India. Taste of aam panna is the blend of different flavours including sweetness, tangy-ness and salty with the flavour of spices.


This is the first time I prepared aam panna at home and I thought why didn't I prepare this for all these days. When I served it to my husband when he came back from office he was really satisfied and drank till the last drop and then he asked what is the drink name? I said it is aam panna. He immediately asked 'Why isn't it green color?' Yes it is not his mistake because normally what we get in market (bottled aam panna) is green in colour. So I said aam panna is prepared from the pulp so it is the pulp colour (which is not green :))...Few people add mint leaves to aam panna which gives the green colour, I avoided as I wanted to enjoy the flavour of raw mango and didn't want to blend with any other taste. But market bought bottles normally use synthetic food colours to symbolize green mango. Even you can try this 'Aam Panna' during this Summer. So what are you waiting for! Aam Panna
Ingredients

Green Mangoes - 500 gm
Sugar - 1 cup
Water - 3 cups
Roasted Cumin Powder - 11/2 teaspoon
Black Salt - 1 teaspoon
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Water - 2 to 3 cups
Ice cubes - few

Procedure

1. Wash and cut the upper part of the bud and boil the mangoes for 10 to 15 minutes. If you are using pressure cooker put one whistle under medium flame.
2. Cool the mangoes and peel them. Take put the pulp and mash them properly.
3. Add water along with the mango pulp and blend well.
4. Now add sugar and mix well until it is dissolved.
5. Next add roasted cumin powder, salt and black salt and mix well once again.
6. Pour into the glasses and serve with ice cubes.

NB: If you do not want to use ice cubes you can keep the drink in refrigerator for one hour or can use chilled water while preparing the drink.

Kiwi Juice

Finally back from the amazing trip... Oh yes I will update my trip details in a separate blog ...Hangover of the trip is still there and obviously the jet lag too... But life has to move on as holidays does not remain forever...One thing is good that after coming back we got the weekend to relax and get ready for the coming week.. Friday whole day was busy in cleaning, arranging and unpacking of things. Saturday we went pick our grocery for the remaining days of the month..On Sunday we took appointment for daughter's hair-cutting! So all the scheduled work were done as we planned ( normally life never goes plan-wise)... In the afternoon we switched on the TV and saw it's telecasting a recent movie PINK. It's a wow movie which depicts a woman's freedom to her own sexuality...PINK has sent a bold message to the society. Again hats off to Amitabh Bachchan for his mind-blowing acting..I was spellbound. If you have not watched the movie I would say it is a must watch and the time has come where each and every woman must learn to say 'NO'.


I am so touched by the movie I had to share with you all. Now coming back to today's recipe, I will share a simple juice recipe which is very healthy. I am talking about Kiwi Juice which is full of vitamin C. Though it is better to include whole fruit but sometimes you can prepare juice too, especially for the fussy kid at your home.

Kiwi Juice
Ingredients

Kiwi Fruit - 2 + 1 or 2 circular slice for garnishing
Sugar - 1 tablespoon
Water - 1 Cup

Procedure

1. Peel the kiwis and cut them into pieces.
2. Take the kiwi pieces and sugar in a blender. Blend till it become pulp. Adjust the quantity of sugar according to the sourness of kiwi.
3. Now add water in the blender and blend again. Serve in to a tall glass and garnish with kiwi roundales.


Tips- You can serve with some Ice chunks. While preparing the juice you can also add a pinch of salt or black salt to get little salty sweet and tangy taste.

Cardamom Tea / Elaichi Chai / Elaichi wali Chai

Monsoon is in full swing throughout the country. Whenever it rains you feel like having something hot. It could be soup or hot tea or coffee. Isn't it true?  In Bangalore the climate is unpredictable! Suddenly it becomes sunny and if you go out of the house without rain jackets or umbrella it will definitely rain. Sometimes when it is about to rain we go out with all our gears and suddenly it becomes sunny and make you sweat! Days are windy now and thus creates a holiday mood everyday..



After a gap I am sharing the recipe of another flavoured tea.. Yes my Tea Series is not over yet...Few more to come in ...Elaichi wali chai is famous through out India and thus you get dip tea bags of cardamom flavour. Though you get the aroma of cardamom from the pack but when you dip it into hot water and prepare the tea I bet you won't get any kind of flavour or aroma. I don't know whether the company just sells the aroma of cardamom tea or what!! So its better you prepare your own cup of cardamom tea at your kitchen. My husband is not a fan of cardamom tea so I enjoy cardamom tea during 'me' time :). Cardamom Tea / Elaichi Chai (Serving 2 cups)

Ingredients

Milk - 3/4 cup
Water -11/3 cup
Green Cardamom Pods - 2 to 3
Sugar - 2 to 3 teaspooon as per taste
Tea Leaves - 2 teaspoon

Procedure

1. Boil water in a pan and add cardamom pod by crushing it with mortar and pestle.
2. Next add sugar and milk and finally add tea leaves and boil for 5 minutes.
3. Switch off the gas and cover with a lid for 2 minutes.
4. Strain the tea into cups and serve hot.

Ginger Tea / Indian style Ginger Tea / Adrakwali Chai

Monsoon has arrived few days back! Though in some parts of India still the temperature is high with humid climate but in Bangalore monsoon has wiped the summer totally. Even from last few days we are eager to see the sun. Most of the time it's drizzling. But that doesn't mean everyday school will declare a rainy day or office goer's will take work from home. So everyone has to get out and go for work despite of this rainy season. And then cold and cough come home. I have experienced instead of medicine home remedies are best for cold and cough. Everyday morning gurgling helps to keep away all kind of throat irritations. In fact inhaling vapor is also very helpful in cold and cough. Another good home remedy for cold is ginger tea or adrakwali chai. Ginger inhibits common cold viruses and thus gives us some relief!


My husband is a fan of ginger tea and he starts his day with it! Recently I had throat irritation due to bad weather and sipping into ginger tea gave some relief...So another flavourful tea with medicinal value added in the Tea Series...

Ginger Tea / Indian style Ginger Tea / Adrakwali Chai

Ingredients

Milk - 2 Cups, Boiled and Cooled
Sugar - 4 to 5 teaspoon (as per taste)
Water - 21/2 cups
Ginger - 1 to 1.5 inch, peeled and crushed
Tea Leaf - 2 to 3 teaspoon

Procedure

1. Boil water in a pan and add sugar into it. You can also add sugar in the cups according to the person's taste.
2. After that add crushed ginger in the water and allow to boil for few minutes.
3. Next add tea leaf and boil for 3 to 4 minutes.
4. Finally add milk and switch off the gas after two minutes and cover the pan with a lid for another 2 minutes.
5. Now strain it and serve hot.

Strawberry Agua Fresca / Mexican Strawberry Water

Strawberry Agua Fresca / Mexican Strawberry Water is a famous drink from Mexican cuisine. It is a refreshing drink with just few ingredients. Fresh strawberries are in season so I am buying in bunches and thought of preparing an interesting drink. While searching in internet, I came across this refreshing drink and tried immediately. What a lovely flavour! The best part there is no fuss in this recipe and outcome is a flavourful cool drink. It is important to strain the strawberry pulp while making this drink. I would suggest my readers to try this out now and share your feedback with me.



Strawberry Agua Fresca / Mexican Strawberry Water (Serves 2)

Ingredients

Strawberries - 150 gm
Water - 3 cups
Sugar - 2 to 3 tablespoon
Lime Juice - 3 to 4 tablespoon
Ice Cubes - 5 to 6 (Optional)

Procedure

1. Wash the strawberries and remove the green part. Chop them and make puree in a blender.
2. Strain the puree adding little water in it (1/2 to 1 cup).
3. In a glass take the remaining water and add the sugar. Dissolve it properly.
4. Now add strained strawberry pulp and lime juice into sugar-water mixture. Stir it well.
5. Take ice cubes in glass and pour the prepared drink. Garnish as per your choice.

Virgin Pina Colada

Pina colada is a Spanish cocktail prepared with rum, coconut milk and pineapple juice. We can replicate this drink without adding alcohol and it is named as Virgin Pina Colada. Whenever I buy pineapple from market, I plan to prepare this drink but every time my pantry runs out of coconut milk and I have to leave the plan of making virgin pina colada. Few days back I got pineapple and guess what I had coconut milk too. This drink is the lovely blend of two unique flavours. If you are arranging kitty party at home you can serve virgin pina colada as welcome drink. Cutting pineapple is a big job but nowadays few vendors cut and give it to you. My pineapple was dark yellow in colour and fully ripen so the drink colour is also in the darker side. Even I added less sugar as it was really very sweet.



Virgin Pina Colada (Served one tall glass)

Ingredients
Pineapple - diced, 11/2 cup
Thick Coconut Milk - 1-11/4 cup
Sugar - 1-2 tablespoon
Ice - 4 to 5 (optional)
Diced Pineapple and Cherry for garnishing

Procedure

1. Take diced pineapple in a blender and add little water and make smooth juice.
2. Now add sugar and thick coconut milk and blend again.
3. Take ice cubes in a glass and pour the drink. Finally, garnish with diced pineapple and cherry.

OREO Milkshake

Our last trip was Waynad almost one and half year back. After that we were very busy in our life and couldn't plan for a trip. Though we went to Shilong in between but the purpose was not trip, so I don't count it as a trip. This year is going to finish and we couldn't plan a single trip. Sometimes I miss the scenic beauty of nature and wanted to enjoy some time in nature's lap. However, this year it is not going to happen as I know there are lot many family occasions are already scheduled for us. Recently, I visited Mumbai at my sis's place and while going by bus I clicked some scenery and sharing them here.



Coming back to the recipe, today I am sharing a Kid's friendly Milkshake which is very popular nowadays. Yes you guessed it right! I am talking about Oreo Milkshake. There were some offers going on oreo biscuit so when I picked up 2 packets automatically it became double due to the offer. So I had planned to make Oreo shake. Oreo Milkshake can be prepared with ice cream or without ice cream. However, I would suggest to choose Oreo shake with ice-cream.  This really goes well for a kid's birthday party. Here is the simple recipe of Oreo Milkshake, do try it at your home.



OREO Milkshake

Ingredients (One long glass)

Oreo Biscuits (Vanilla cream) - 5 + 4 for plating
Sugar - 1 tablespoon
Milk - 11/2 cup
Chocolate Syrup - 1 tablespoon
Vanilla Ice cream - 3 scoops


Procedure

1. Take 4 oreo biscuit and make small pieces with hand. Now take them into a grinder and add milk, sugar and one scoop vanilla ice cream. Blend them together until it becomes frothy.

2. Now take a tall glass and add chocolate syrup and rotate the glass to make pattern.

3. Pour the milkshake in the glass. Add two scoops of ice cream on it and crush one oreo biscuit and garnish the oreo milkshake. Serve with oreo biscuits on plate.

Pineapple Juice

How many of you include fruits in your daily diet? I try to keep minimum one fruit or a glass of fruit juice in my daily diet. I personally prefer whole fruit which contains lot of fiber. My little daughter prefers the juice form. However, sometimes I insist her to eat the whole fruit (cut into pieces). When I bought pineapple she was very excited and she came with her fruit book and showed the pineapple picture. At this age kids are curious to learn and match it with the real life experience. This small act may not affect the adults, but as a mother I try to encourage her and appreciate her. Actually, adults also need appreciation for their work. Aren't they??

Coming back to the today's post, I will share a simple juice. Today's post is healthy pineapple juice. Pineapple has lot of vitamin C and manganese. 



Pineapple Juice

Ingredients

Pineapple - cut into cubes, 2 cup
Salt - a pinch
Sugar - 11/2 tablespoon
Water - 1 - 11/2 cup
Cherry - few for garnishing

Procedure

Take pineapple cubes, salt, sugar and water (as required) in a blender and make a smooth mixture. Pour into glass and garnish with cherry on top. You can also add ice cubes or chilled water. 



 Notes:
Adjust the water content as per the consistency you prefer. 
After blending you can strain the juice but I avoided as I did not like to go away the fiber.

Musk Melon Cooler

I never used to like musk melon however it was my better half's favourite fruit. However, I used to eat it thinking about its health perspective. However, it was a rare in my fruit basket. Now my daughter also loves to eat musk melon, so the opponent group is heavier and now quite often you can find musk melon on my fruit basket. Recently, I tried this Musk Melon Cooler which is far better than the whole fruit (My opinion). You can relish this cool drink during hot summer days. You just need few ingredients to prepare this and can be served to your guests (who likes Musk Melon) as a healthy drink instead of some soda.


Musk Melon Cooler

Ingredients

Musk Melon - 2 cups, peeled and cut into small blocks
Lemon Juice - 1 or 2 teaspoon
Sugar - 2 tablespoon
Water - 11/2 cups
Crushed Ice - 2 tablespoon (optional)

Procedure

1. In a blender take the musk melon and sugar together and make a smooth puree.
2. Now add water in to it and blend once again. Pour in the glass and add lemon juice. Stir it. Finally, top it with crushed ice. 
3. If you wish you can also add small blocks of musk melon on top.

Sunrise Surprise / Mango and Papaya Juice


Isn't this glassful of juice increasing your thirst??

This is a Sunrise Surprise or simply you can say this is a combo of mango and papaya juice. The way morning sunrise boosts your energy, this glassful of sunrise surprise will also help you to kick start your day. Recently in a cookery show I had watched this juice where they had also used pineapple juice. It is named as sunrise surprise because the color of the juice resembles the sky color during sunrise. The making of this juice is very easy.

Sunrise Surprise / Mango and Papaya Juice

Ingredients

Papaya - 1 cup, cut into cubes
Mango - 1 cup, cut into cubes
Sugar - 2 tablespoon
Ice - Crushed (optional)

Procedure

1. In a blender take papaya pieces & 1 tablespoon sugar and make a smooth paste. Open the blender and add half cup water and again blend it. Keep it aside.

2. Now take mango pieces and sugar and repeat the same process.

3. Take a long glass and pour the mango juice first. Now take a spoon and hold it in inverted position. While pouring the papaya juice in glass, pass the juice over this inverted spoon. It helps to separate both the layers. Finally you can add crushed ice on top. I avoided to add ice.

Papaya Juice

When I was writing this post, my android device showed a notification which says again tremors felt in Delhi. It just reminded me about April 25th when the devastating earthquake took away more than eight thousands of lives  and injuring approximately 18,000 people in Nepal. Though the epicenter of the earthquake was in Nepal however tremors was also felt in Northern and Eastern part of India. I was in my native town and felt the tremors. Initially, everyone felt dizziness and only after few minutes we realized there was an earthquake and we all came out from house. This kind of situations makes you feel helpless. Human being cannot win over natural calamities irrespective of their modern gadgets. Hope to get stable life for the people of Nepal as well as India in coming days.

Now coming to the recipe, today I am sharing simple and refreshing papaya juice. A glass full of papaya juice along with your breakfast can make your day. You can also have papaya juice after a simple and light lunch. I have added chaat masala to make this juice more tasty.



Papaya Juice

Ingredients

Papaya - peeled and cut in to blocks, 2 cups
Sugar - 2 tablespoon
Chaat Masala - 1 teaspoon
Black Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Crushed Ice - 1/3 cup (Optional)
Water as required (I used 2 cups)


Procedure

Take papaya blocks, sugar and black salt in a blender and make a smooth paste. Next add water into the blender and make a slushy drink. Finally add chaat masala and crushed ice and blend once again. Serve in a glass. You can also add lemon juice.

Banana Strawberry Smoothie

At times your toddler may not like to eat fruits, so you have to think some alternative and successfully feed the fruit to your kid. Actually, toddlers or preschoolers have a tendency to swallow or drink rather than chewing the solid food. Hence, they try to avoid chewing solid foods. This happens because their food habits are slowly changing from liquid or semisolid to solid items. Smoothies are the best option to feed fruits to your child. You should always include seasonal fruits and vegetables in your as well as your kids diet. Here is an example of simple and healthy smoothie recipe. 



Banana Strawberry Smoothie (One glass)

Ingredients

Strawberry -  4 to 5 numbers
Banana - 1, medium size
Sugar - 11/2 tablespoon
Milk - 11/2 cup, boiled and cooled

Procedure

In a blender take all the ingredients and make a smooth paste. Now pour it in glass and garnish using strawberry. You can replace sugar using honey. For adults you can use ice cubes or use chilled milk. Serve the smoothies at room temperature for kids.

Iced Tea Soda / Iced Tea Lime Soda

Friday was my daughter's last school from this session and she has been graduated to nursery! Phew, days are running so faster. Now I have to think about more options to keep her engaged all the time otherwise she will keep on watching tv which I don't like :(. Sometimes she listens to me and agrees to switch off the tv, but at times she becomes arrogant, that is where the problem starts. Even I will miss my 'me' time now throughout the vacation. What to do, that's all part of life.

Coming back to today's post, I prepared iced tea soda few days back to enjoy 'me' time :). It came out really good. Normally I drink iced tea during summer days however never tried with the addition of soda. It can be a very good kitty party drink during this summer. Very very simple ingredients, only you have to get a soda bottle with your regular grocery shopping. I used tea bag, you can also use tea leaves and strain them before cooling it. But while using tea leaves, do not boil them much otherwise you could get a bitter taste. 



Iced Tea Soda / Iced Tea Lime Soda (One Long Tumbler)

Ingredients

Water - 11/2 cup
Soda - 11/2 cup, chilled
Tea Bag - 1 
Sugar - 2 tablespoon
Lime Juice - 1 teaspoon
Ice cubes - 4 to5 

Procedure

Boil water and pour in a glass and dip the tea bag in water. After 2 to 3 minutes take out the tea bag and dissolve the sugar into it, finally allow the decoction to cool. Then put the decoction in the refrigerator for half an hour. After that, take the tea decoction out from refrigerator and add lime juice. Now transfer this decoction into a serving glass and add soda. Serve with ice cubes.

Sweet Lime Soda

Sweet Lime Soda can be perfectly paired with a heavy meal. It is also a perfect summer cooler. As we are heading towards hot summer, hence sharing this soothing drink with all of you. You just need to have a soda bottle in your freezer. Rest of the ingredients are always available at your pantry. Always use a pinch of salt or black salt to this drink which helps to keep you rehydrate during summer. 




Sweet Lime Soda (For one long Tumbler glass)

Ingredients

Soda - chilled, 2 cups
Water - 3/4 cup
Lime Juice - 1/4 cup
Sugar - 3 tablespoon
Black Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt - a pinch

Procedure

Take water in a glass and dissolve the sugar and salt. Keep this inside refrigerator for half an hour. Now in a serving glass add lime juice and pour the water-sugar mixture. Finally add the chilled soda and serve it.

Papaya Smoothie

Are you eating fruits daily??

I know many of you answer that not getting enough time to eat fruit. It is very important to include one or two fruit in your diet on regular basis. Most of the science articles recommend to eat a whole fruit. However, shakes, smoothies or juices are also good for health when you are preparing them fresh at home. Now we are approaching towards summer and our body gets dehydrated easily, so need to include plenty of fluid in our diet. Recently, I prepared Papaya Smoothie which was very tasty. Two toast and a glass of smoothie is a good & nutritious breakfast option. I have added sugar as per my taste. You can adjust the sugar level according to sweetness of papaya and obviously your taste bud. You can also cut down the sugar and add honey instead. 



Papaya Smoothie (One long glass)


Ingredients

Papaya cubes - 1 cup

Curd/Yogurt - 3/4 cup
Sugar - 2 tablespoon
Milk - 1/3 cup (Optional)
Cinnamon Powder - 1/4 teaspoon

Procedure


In a blender bowl take all the ingredients together and make a smooth paste. Then pour it in a glass and sprinkle little cinnamon powder from top. You can also use black pepper powder. Keep the glass in the freezer for 30 minutes and serve it chill.

Orange Mocktail

Now its mid of February but Mercury is rising faster and the outside temperature is 33 to 34 degree C here (Bangalore) during afternoon. Though the night temperature is still around 16 to 18 degree C. After coming from outside, you feel like having a glass of refreshing drink. Still the availability of oranges are good in the market, I prepared Orange Mocktail to get charge up myself. This is an easy to prepare drink and it needs very few ingredients. If you have oranges and a soda bottle in your pantry, you can easily prepare this drink for your guests.


Orange Mocktail (Single long Tumbler Glass)


Ingredients
Orange Juice - 2 cups
Lime Juice - 2 to 3 teaspoon
Sugar - 3 tablespoon
Soda - 1 to 2 cups
Ice - 1/2 cup crushed (optional)

Procedure


Take crushed ice in a tumbler glass. Squeeze the orange and take out the juice. Now filter the juice and take it in a bowl and add lemon juice. Next add sugar according to taste and pour it in to glass after dissolving the sugar. Finally, add chilled soda in to it and serve Orange mocktail.

Espresso Cold Coffee

Most of the couples loved to spend a quality time together and they prefer to go in a cafe or coffee lounge. Now there are lot of coffee retail chain in India and over the weekends you find all the outlets are over crowded. Instead of spending quality time together, you can practice standing in a queue and do a chit chat with your partner. By that time your turn comes, chit chat must have turned in to a heated argument or you are too tired of standing. So the end result is mood completely gone to enjoy quality time and coffee. Valentine Day is ahead and obviously, the coffee shops will be more crowded than normal weekends. 



You can try this easy Espresso cold coffee and surprise your partner. You can arrange a table for two in your garden or terrace or balcony. You just need very simple ingredients to make espresso cold coffee at your kitchen.

Espresso Cold Coffee


Ingredients


Instant Coffee Powder - 5 to 6 teaspoon

Powder Sugar - 1/3 cup
Milk - 3 cups
Fresh Cream - 100 gms
Ice - 11/2 cup crushed
Chocolate Sauce  - 3 teaspoon

Procedure


Take to long glass and randomly decorate the glasses using chocolate syrup. Place ice (equally divided) on them. Now make coffee decoction by adding 3to 4 teaspoon of instant coffee powder in hot water. Now pour it equally in both the glass and add powder sugar in each glass. Stir them well. Now add boiled and chilled milk in both glass. On the other hand, whip the fresh cream using remaining coffee powder and powder sugar. Using a scoop place the whipped cream on the top of each glass. You can also add little chocolate syrup for garnishing. Espresso Cold Coffee is ready to serve.
